Ms. Shala received her Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and has completed her Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. During her Master’s degree, Ms. Shala focused on cell biology and microbial community diversity in marine environments. Through her research she gained expertise in cell culture, working with large sets of data, molecular applications and environmental manipulations in phenotypic traits. Ms. Shala spent over 3 years working in the renewable energy sector for an industry partner with focus on the development of alternative and sustainable methods of producing food and energy. She uses her prior training and research background to assist in preclinical and clinical testing programs at AGADA.
